The meeting is in preparation of the General Assembly's High Level Conference on the world financial and economic crisis and its impact on development.

Investment flows to Latin America and the Caribbean totaled more than US$128 billion, in spite of the crisis.

ECLAC to Present Report On Foreign Direct Investment in Latin America and the Caribbean

Tras récord de inversión extranjera directa en 2008, se espera importante caída en 2009
Flujos hacia América Latina y el Caribe llegaron a más de US$ 128.000 millones pese a la crisis.
 
El 27 de mayo:
CEPAL presenta informe sobre la inversión extranjera directa en América Latina y el Caribe
La publicación anual incluye datos sobre empresas transnacionales, servicios empresariales a distancia, turismo y solución de controversias entre inversionistas y Estados.
Foro Unión Europea, América Latina y el Caribe:
Vulnerabilidad de sistemas tributarios condiciona políticas fiscales para enfrentar crisis
Ecuador, Panamá, México y Bolivia son los más afectados en su capacidad de recaudar impuestos para financiar políticas anticíclicas.
 
 
En Montevideo, Uruguay, 19 al 20 de mayo:
Analizarán los desafíos de la política fiscal frente a la crisis
 
En el Foro Unión Europea, América Latina y el Caribe, se revisará el rol de la política fiscal en su doble tarea de estabilizar el crecimiento y proteger a los sectores más vulnerables.
